Arkansas National Guard Museum History Roundtable Celebrating Women's Equality Day

The 19th Amendment, which was certified on August 26, 1920, prohibits states and the federal government from denying citizens the right to vote on the basis of sex. Women's Equality Day was first celebrated in 1971 during the fight for women's equality and the Equal Rights Amendment.

Due to August 26th falling on a Saturday, this month’s History Roundtable will be held on August 31st.
