The Arkansas Women’s History Institute presents the “Inaugural Arkansas Women’s History Month Festival: Remembering 1917” this Saturday March 4th from 10 am to 2 pm at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, located at 503 E. 9th St. in downtown Little Rock’s MacArthur Park. This FREE family-friendly event will feature activities on the museum front lawn, including crafts, demonstrations, and living history performances related to World War I and the women’s suffrage movement. Inside the museum, there will be gallery tours, silent movie screenings, and presentations about women’s roles during World War I. A special preview of the “Women and the War” segment of the new PBS documentary AMERICAN EXPERIENCE "The Great War" will take place at noon. “The Great War” premieres on PBS on Monday, April 10. Free ice cream and water will be provided by Blue Bell Creameries and Premium Refreshment Services. Haygood BBQ will offer food and beverages for purchase.
