MacArthur Museum to host documentary “Searching for Home, coming Back From War”

Little Rock – The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History will host the documentary Searching for Home, Coming Back From War” on Tuesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m.  The film, part of the museum’s monthly “Movies at MacArthur” series, offers an unflinching look at returning veterans and their search for the “home” they left behind.  From World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to the modern-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Searching for Home is a multi-generational chronicle of the men and women who left home to serve their country, only to return to new and difficult challenges as profoundly changed people. 

Special guests at the screening will be Eric Christiansen, the film’s Emmy Award-winning director, and Pam Payeur, founder of the Wounded Heroes Program of Maine.  Christiansen’s previous work includes Homecoming: A Vietnam Vet’s Journey and has received acclaim for chronicling the loss, recovery, and complexities facing veterans.  Payeur and her son are both featured in the film, discussing issues facing veterans and their families today.  A panel following the movie will be available for questions and comments from the audience.  The event is open to the public free of charge.  Popcorn and beverages are provided courtesy of Colonial Wine and Spirits and Stone’s Throw Brewery.
